Led by captains’ senior Sterling Tobin and junior Emily Campbell, the BHS Golf team starts the season off looking towards the future.
Unlike other “team sports,” golf requires that individuals compete against themselves as well as others. “I’m a very competitive person,” junior Lindsy Bishop said. “You’re not competing against other people; you’re competing against the course.”
According to their Coach Jeff Jackson, “The team has been focusing on skills that will lead them to playing better, as well as things to make a person hit the ball straighter.”
While playing golf, students can also focus on self reliance “It’s an individual sport not a team sport,” senior Sterling Tobin said. “I plan to play college golf.”
This week the Bandera girls’ golf team will have a tournament at Navarro Golf Course on Thursday and then the following week, they will play closer to home in the Fredericksburg Tourney on March 1st.
