“Our first game was successful in several ways.  I was able to evaluate the abilities of my players, they were able to see how I react during a game, and we received a much needed practice,” JV basketball coach Robert Shearhart said.  Even though it had come to a hard loss 47-37 to a tough Hondo Owls team.

The Bulldogs had kept it close the whole first half with a score of 16-15.  When the teams came out of the locker room to start the second half, the Bulldogs had fallen flat in the third quarter, only scoring eight points, and allowing the Owls to put up 18 points.

Even with the third quarter score of 34-23, the Bulldogs were not ready to turn of the lights yet.  The Bulldogs came out strong in the fourth led by a surge from returning junior guard Cameron Brzezinski shooting lights out from three point range, making three for a solid nine points on the quarter.

During the second half, the Bulldogs hit some much needed free throws lead by sophomore guard Jonathan Raitz hitting three for four and sophomore guard Devon Adamson making his two attempts.  Adamson was also the game high point with 10 points.

Even with the huge fourth quarter surge the Bulldogs did not have enough to beat the Owls, who had ten of their twelve players score in the quarter.  The Buzzer sounded with a final score of 47-37, the Bulldogs had fallen on the short side.

On Monday, November 21st  the Bulldogs JV squad traveled to Medina Valley and endured another hard loss falling 59-36.
