Got Change?
Principal Gary Bitzkie's friendly smile warms up Nita Pillet's day at the cafeteria. - Jimmy Monroe

This year BHS has a new administration, new teachers, and even a new principal, Mr. Gary Bitzkie.

We are seeing great amounts of change. Change for the better, which has definitely shown in the short time we’ve been back in school.

Mr. Bitzkie demonstrates many qualities that make a solid foundation for improving our school, making it an even better place to get an education.

For example, his interaction with the students, agreeable and optimistic personality and his love for working in the field of education make everyone involved in BHS feel more connected.

Having Danny Mills saying the announcements every morning is a good illustration of this. It is giving the students a chance to be involved in more of the schools structure and daily rituals.

There is far less conflict between students and administration, teachers are more relaxed, and orderliness has improved.

The organization factor was shown at registration and on the first day of school. The stations and release times were more convenient and there weren’t any issues with students being late to class because of a lost schedule.

Another big change at our school are the updates to our facilities.  Gates have been set up to keep students from leaving campus unpermitted. Had this happened last year, there would have been a great deal of argumentation.

The students’ acceptance of Mr. Bitzkie’s leadership has enabled us to do this. Change can be difficult, but in this case we seem to be on the right track.

What a talented young journalist this Megan Greebon is. Yes change can be difficult, however if it is for the benifit of the student, changes must be made for their betterment. Kudos to all the young journalists, writers, etc. Truly, Donna Riley
