On Wednesday, the Girls Soccer Team faced up against cross town rivals: the Del Oro Eagles.

The JV Girls Soccer team came up on top with a win against Del Oro.  Lydia Summers, sophomore, as well as Jaymi Boynton, freshman, put two goals in the net during the second half putting the Thunder in a comfortable lead.

“We played hard for the entire game and am glad we beat Del Oro,” said Jaymi Boynton, freshman.

Varsity came up on top of the Eagles as well in a 1-0 win.

The Thunder was tied with the Eagles for most of the game. Del Oro and Rocklin were battling it out for the whole game but both teams would not let down.  Both teams had a considerable amount of opportunities to score but none capitalized until Savannah Coiner, Rocklin senior, bent a ball into the corner of the goal with only 2 minutes remaining.

Rocklin defense had a solid game, putting up another shut out, and held up against the Del Oro offense.

“We were strong back there and were able to hold up against them,” said Rocklin senior, Torey Walter.

Now, with Rocklin leading the league, all teams are hoping to take down the Thunder.

Rocklin faces Roseville this Friday at Roseville.  JV 5:30 and Varsity 7.
