In the middle of rebuilding from last year's tsunami, another devastation has hit Indonesia. A powerful magnitude 6.3 earthquake hit Indonesia very early on the morning of May 27. More than five- thousand people are thought to have been killed and about one hundred thousand are homeless. The country was prone to the seismic upheaval due to its location called, "The Ring of Fire" along the Pacific.

Emergency aid quickly arrived from the United Nations carrying food, water, hygiene kits and tents. There still is a need for more paramedics and doctors to take care of the injured. Countries from all over the world have donated millions of dollars for supplies and for the rebuilding of the country.
