Dear Fellow Students
Mid-Winter Break has finally arrived and I was given the opportunity to update the anticipated issue of February 2007. With schoolwork and other clubs, it’s difficult getting the issues out on time with the editing and posting of articles. That is why starting next month, there will be an Assistant Editor. The essays have been submitted and I will announce our Assistant Editor of The Pirateer in next month’s issue.
In Tottenville news, we covered the recent Save Darfur Fundraiser organized by Global Outreach as well as the annual production of “Nights of Scenes and Monologues,” performed by members of the Drama Club. Our Teacher, Pirate, and Club of the Month have been selected and the interviews can be read exclusively here at The Pirateer website. In last month’s issue, we were unable to interview Rachel Chille, the Pirate of the Month. We caught up with her despite her busy schedule and her interview has been posted.
In entertainment, one lucky Pirateer writer was given the opportunity to interview Ehren Kruger, the screenwriter of the movie, “Blood and Chocolate.” There are also reviews on “Epic Movie” and “Alpha Dog.” In music, there is a review on the “Dreamgirls” soundtrack and an insight to Staten Island’s most unique band, T.L.F.
For this month, although Valentine’s Day has passed, it’s not too late to surprise your sweetheart. We’ve supplied you with gift ideas and places to go with each other. The chemistry is always brewing, even in chocolate!
That’s it for now! Enjoy the Mid-Winter Break!
