In the last 12 years, the paper has won three Second Place Awards, six First Place Awards and one George H. Gallup Award, the highest award for excellence given by Quill and Scroll. Since becoming a member of Quill and Scroll in 1934, The World has won a total of seven Second Place Awards, seven First Place Awards and two Gallup Awards.

For the first time since The World began printing 134 years ago, the paper is in jeopardy of becoming an on-line newspaper only because of the cost of publication. Students, staff and alumni have strongly indicted that they want Topeka High School to keep a printed version. But the staff needs help to continue to print this award-winning paper.
