It’s the only time of year for students and teachers to get out of school to celebrate a major holiday besides Thanksgiving and Easter. Kids everywhere look forward to the day school gets out for Christmas. Christmas brings snow and happiness everywhere, no matter who you are. December 21 marks the last day of school before Christmas break for the students of CHS. Students everywhere are ready to celebrate Christmas with their families. “I normally spend most of my time with distant relatives and family members that I hardly ever get to see,“ said Sophomore Alexis Amos. “I also eat a lot of food!“ she added.  Christmas is the time of year where you sit down with family and discuss the year’s events and bond more. Family is an important part of Christmas. Family is what brings you together for the holidays. And of course everyone wishes for a white Christmas! When you celebrate Christmas you all gather around and open presents. All families celebrate Christmas in their own way, and according to their own beliefs.  “Usually we head down to Arkansas to hang out with family and go to church, and of course eat. We sometimes even go on cruises, but that won’t happen this year,“ said Sophomore Casey Fisk. “We have other plans this year,” she added.  Christmas isn’t all about presents and getting together with the family. Christmas is actually a celebration of the birth of Jesus. His birth changed the world. Every year it is a tradition to give gifts to loved ones, much like the gift of eternal life Jesus gave to us all. But no matter what you believe or how you celebrate it, Christmas is still a fun and cheerful holiday. Merry Christmas to all!
