Everyone has had their fair share of embarrassing moments. Many people deny ever doing anything embarrassing, but others are happy to share them so they can look back and laugh at themselves with others, most often with the bystanders that were there to watch the entire thing happen.

There are also tons of other classic incidents that make people red in the face, like tripping up the stairs or slipping in a puddle. But have you ever slipped in a puddle or tripped up the stairs and caused your backpack to come over your head and land on top of you, smashing you to the ground? Juniors Jessie Blanton and Kathy O'Donnell have.

Tripping seems to be one of the most common embarrassing incidents that happen to people. One day in 5th grade, Junior Maddie Bonderer was at the Omaha Zoo. She was riding on her cousin's shoulders and he started running, tripped and flung her off head-first into the concrete.

Sometimes people trip from excitement. Your feet can easily get ahead of your body and cause you to trip. Other times it happens simply because you weren't paying attention and then had to make up for lost time. Either way, Junior Alicia Witt did something less than suave. During a summer league volleyball game, she had no clue it was time for her to go in. So when the coach yelled at her to go in, she sporadically jumped up, bringing the chair onto the court with her. Her friends say it was because of her clumsiness. She claims it was from her size-14 feet. Most likely it was a mix of both.

Imagine your sister de-pantsing you. Now imagine her doing it at the reservoir in front of a random old man fishing. Freshman Ashley Zeikle doesn't have to imagine that because it actually happened to her. Ashley explained, "We were just standing there and out of nowhere she pulled down my pants and all...he saw EVERYTHING. And I never even got her back!"

Ashley never did get her sister back, but there was no need to. Junior Allison Zeikle did all the work and embarrassed herself. As she was getting ready to leave her house, she was looking around her brother's closet for a pair of shoes. He kept yelling and screaming at her to hurry up and so she suddenly pulled her head up and hit it really hard on the doorknob. "As a result of hitting my head, I got a bruise the size of a nickel right in the middle of my forehead. That happened 3 months ago and it is still here. I really hope everyone liked my shoes that day."

There are all kinds of embarrassing things you see in movies, but do they really happen to people in real life? Well, they do to Freshman Keyona Turner-Lee. She explained, "When I was in 5th grade I was at a camp and we were all sitting in a circle talking and meeting each other. Then when we all stood up, my pants ripped right down my butt and everyone heard it! It wasn't just a couple stitches that ripped. No, it was the entire butt. And it sounded just how you would imagine it. I swear someone was behind me making sound effects when it happened. It was the loudest rip I've heard in my life! It was the most embarrassing thing ever." That happened more than 4 years ago and she still gets embarrassed talking about it. But hey, she made a lasting first impression!

Sophomore Kirby Stuedle also experienced a classic embarrassing moment that seems to only happen in movies. Kirby explained, "One day during the summer, I was walking in the grass to my piano lesson. I took one step on the sidewalk and I slipped and fell flat on my butt, dropping all of my piano books in the process. I stood up to look and see what could have possibly caused me to slip, thinking it was mud or something like that, and saw a banana peel. I slipped on a banana peel, just like in Mario Bros."

Anytime you experience one of these incidents or something like them, it seems like the end of the world or something close to it. Although after it's over, it's fun to laugh about with others, and everyone needs a good laugh once in a while.
