$0Everyone was in shock on September 11, 2001, the day two planes hit the World Trade Center. The planes were taken over by terrorists, and not only did the crash kill them and the people on the plane, but most of the people in the Twin Towers too.$0$0 $0$0It was like every other day, kids going to school, adults going to work, just normal everyday activities. $0$0 $0$0"I was at Cameron High School teaching a Geometry class," Geometry Teacher Terry Garrison said.$0$0 $0$0"I was in fourth grade in Parkview Elementary School, and all I remember on that day is that we weren't allowed to do anything," Senior Scott Walser said. "When I got home, my mom told me that the Twin Towers were hit." $0$0The schools prevented the children from participating in activities such as recess. They also did not inform the students on what happened, opting instead to let parents tell them when they went home.$0$0 $0$0This tragedy has affected everyone, but it hits closer to home for some. "I was born in New York and have been there several times," Mrs. Garrison said," but never since the attack." $0$0Junior Trulea Fletcher has also visited  New York several times. Her and her family were devastated to see part of the city in ruins. "I was mostly in shock," said Trulea, "lots of grief and sympathy going out to the families." $0$0"Everyone is affected by such a tragedy, but for me all I could think about was all of the families that lost loved ones," said Mrs Garrison. Over 2,000 people died on 9/11 with only a handful of survivors.$0$0 $0$0Some people will do things on September 11th for a memorial. Scott is one of them. " I like to dress patriotically [on September 11th]," said Scott, "and  I got to put up a flag at my house; it was a nice remembrance." Not only does the Walser family put up flags to honor September 11th, if you look around town tons of houses and businesses had flags up.$0$0  $0$0$0This is the 8th year anniversary of 9/11, and the world is not about to forget. Lots of lives were taken that day, and so mach much pain and suffering was inflicted upon many people. This tragedy has affected everyone in some form, but overall it has made our country stronger and more aware.$0
