The new school year just recently started and it brought a lot of differences from last year. Probably the most initially obvious changes include new teachers at the front of classrooms. Thereare new teachers at all the school buildings this year.  Cameron MiddleSchool has two new teachers and is rejoined by one of its own in 8thGrade Science Teacher Mrs. Eckert is back at CMS this year.

The fifth graders are welcoming new 5th grade teacher Mr. Limb this year.  Mr. Limb went to college at William Jewel in Liberty and started teaching in 2004.  Mr. Limb has an Undergraduate Degree in Elementary Education, and a Masters' Degree in Educational Administration. Mr. Limb teaches everything in 5th grade except for Social Studies, andtaught Gallatin Elementary before coming to Cameron Middle School. Since Cameron was his hometown,  Mr. Limb decided to come teach at Cameron this year. He joins his wife at CMS as well.

Mr. Limb even went to school at Cameron High School, and was inspired by a high school teacher and coach to teach.  This is Mr. Limb's sixth year teaching and CMS, but he has had success as a coach as well. Mr. Limb also coached baseball at Gallatin and, while at Gallatin, Mr.Limb received the Conference Coach of the Year award.  He is coachingjunior high football and high school wrestling this year in Cameron aswell.

Coaching isn't the only thing he values though.  Mr.Limb values his students and loves teaching.  "Nearly every kid is agood kid--you just have to bring out the better quality in eachstudent.  Teaching is very fun; every dayis something new," says Mr. Limb.  Mr. Limb originally taughtelementary, so it's a different setting over at the middle school, buthe still thinks it will be a good year, and an even better transition. Mr. Limb thinks his students work hard most of the time and when they don't, he believes it's his job to motivate them to do better by getting through to the students.

The fifth graders aren't the only grade receiving new teachersthis year though.  The 8th graders received a new Language Teacher thisyear, and her name is Mrs. Studyvin.  Mrs. Studyvin went to college at Brigham Young University in Utah and received a Bachelor's Degree in English and a Masters' Degree in Educational Technology.  Mrs.Studyvin started teaching in 1986 and later on took time off to haveher family and started teaching again in 2003.  Mrs. Studyvin teaches8th Grade Language Arts and this is her 8th year teaching and her third school district.  Mrs Studyvin has also taught high school English, other Literature classes, and has even been a librarian before.

Mrs. Studyvin attended high school in California and graduated with 1,000 other kids in her class.  Mrs. Studyvin's husband received a job in Missouri, so they moved hereand she decided to teach at CMS.  Mrs. Studyvin has been teaching for along time now and the one thing she said she had learned over the yearsof teaching is patience, patience, patience.  "Patience is a virtue and is required a lot when teaching," says Mrs. Studyvin.

The 8th grade students also welcomed back Science Teacher Mrs.Eckert.  Mrs. Eckert went to school in Maryville and went to college atNorthwest where she received a Middle School Science Education Degree, and also majored in History and Geology.  Mrs. Eckert in 2008 becauseher husband taught at East Buchannan, and there was an open positionover at East Buchannan as well.  "I really liked my time here and weweren't going to move to Gower, so we decided to move back here," says Mrs. Eckert.

Whileaway Mrs. Eckert taught 7th and 8th grade science.  A lot has changedin a year, because Mrs. Eckert decided to come back here, and Mr.Eckert is now the Tech Specialist at Excelsior Springs. Mrs. Eckert isstaying this time.  Not everything has changed though. She's still in her old room and teaches the same class.  Due to retirement, her old position in her old room magically opened up!

She said this year the kids seem ready to learn so she thinks it will be a good year in school.  She also said patience is a virute is the big thing she's learned over the years of teaching.

If you've learnednothing else, it seems clear the new teachers at CMS agree if you'replanning on being a teacher make sure you have a lot of patience andlove for learning. these new teachers certainly do, and CMS is glad tohave them.
