Kelsi's mitchmatching flip flops -
Advertising
Every single person has an embarrassing moment on their record. While some deny it, others are eager to share. With time, these moments become stories to look back on and laugh at, and with the year coming to a close CHS students are ready to share their moments.

There's the common embarrassments such as tripping up the stairs, like Garrett Uthe did early one morning, or mistaking someone for someone else. Senior Katy Peterson and Sophomore Caroline Lowenstein happened to do this one afternoon. "We thought we saw Matt McCannon in the car behind us so we kept waving at him, but it turned out to be some middle aged guy and his daughter!" admitted Caroline.

Making mistakes usually results in embarrassing consequences. Sophomore Kelsi Klindt accidentally wore two different flip flops on the first day of school. With the school year coming to an end, she still hasn't forgotten her first day blunder.

It's hard to forget embarrassing moments. Junior Drucilla Fletcher still remembers one of hers from freshman year. "One day I was in the bathroom, and I get really freaked out by toilet seats so I put toilet paper on the seat, and when I was done, this senior guy stopped me and told me I had something sticking out of my pants. He asked if it was a tail or something. Being a frosh, I just blushed and walked away." That's the kind of moment you see in the movies, but never expect to happen to you in real life. Drucilla is proof.

Sophomore Maddie Bonderer recalls her slip up, dating back to sixth grade. During a YMCA basketball game, she shot a basket in the wrong goal. Her teammates and everyone who saw still joke about it to this day. At least now Maddie can laugh along.

Sophomore Rachel Hammontree, on the other hand, still gets pretty red in the face when she speaks of her embarrassing moment which happened last year during lunch. "I started to stand up to dump my tray and my feet got caught on the chair bar and I started falling backwards. In the process, I handed my tray to Kathy [O'Donnell]." Pretty impressive to say the least.

Some people enjoy embarrassing others. A perfect example of this is the time Junior Jared Hurst stuck a sticky note on Freshman Anna Curtis' back that said "Slap me in the face" and people kept slapping her in the hallway. Anna was confused as to why they were, but finally figured it out.

Sometimes teachers even get involved in the mess. Once, when Sophomore Lena Blackburn fell asleep in Algebra 2, everyone went to lunch without her. "Mr. Jacob's mistook me for Abbie, and kept saying 'Wake up, Abbie'. Then at lunch I tripped over a chair and knocked into Mr. Berry and we both fell on the floor. It was one of the worst days," said Lena.

Bigger audience equals bigger embarrassment, or a cuter audience in Sophomore Kenzee Cann's case. "I was at my friend's house and she had cute neighbors and we were playing basketball, and I tried taking off my jacket. The sleeve got caught in the car door, and the jacket was stuck over my head. The neighbors were laughing hysterically," explained Kenzee.

Even though its dreadful to deal with embarrassing moments when they happen to you, they induce laughter for others, and this world would be a wreck without laughter.
