Ah...high school. It's full of learning, dances, sports, and everyone has to go through it in lifeEven teachers. Wouldn't it be weird if you went to school your sophomore year with your teacher back in the day?  The styles of music clothing, and even hair would be totally different compared to today.

History Teacher Mrs. Rebecca Harrold was a sophomore in the years of 1993-1994.  Mrs. Harrold moved from Southern Flordia to Lebanon, MO her sophomore year so you can only imagine the style differences.  Mrs. Harrold said the style in clothing her sophomore year was long straight hair with the part on the side, and the whole grunge factor started around that time so lots of flannel shirts.  Mrs. Harrold's favorite music at the time was Metallica and Garth Brooks, and Dr. Dre who was huge at the time.  Mrs. Harrold said out of all her teachers her Latin, Ag teacher, and volleyball coach all helped her the most throughout high school.  1994 was a little while back, so as you can imagine Mrs. Harrold looked different.  "I was skinnier than I am now, and I wore my hair badly because that was the style," says Mrs. Harrold.  Mrs. Harrold always loved school, hence her becoming a teacher.  Mrs. Harrold was involved in volleyball, basketball, FFA, and the Latin club (eventually becoming president).

Now, in high school lots of stuff happens in high school you don't want to forget such as having a high school sweet heart, and Mrs. Harrold's sweetheart was named Chad.  Mrs. Harrold said she even remembers standing up to a bully because she was picking on one of her friends, and Mrs. Harrold got the bully to back off!

Fellow History Teacher and Baseball Coach Mr. Randy Anderson always remembers his sophomore year as well.  Mr. Anderson was a sophomore in the years of 1975 and 1976 at JC Penney High School in Hamilton, MO. He went there all four years of high school as well.  He said the style in clothes then included belt bottoms, tight-fitting shirts, and other psychedelic clothing.  He said the music style then was what we call today "classic rock."  1975 was even further back, so Mr. Anderson was about 5 feet tall and weighed around 86 pounds his sophomore year.

Mr. Anderson got the most help from his biology teacher Mr. Ray Jordan.  With Mr. Anderson being a teacher and all, you figure he'd be an A+ student in school.  "I wasn't much of a student in school; I just wanted to play sports," says Mr. Anderson.  Mr. Anderson was in wrestling, golf, and football while he was a sophomore.  Mr. Anderson didn't play football his junior or senior year, but he continued to golf.  Mr. Anderson said the thing he remembers the most from his sophomore year is winning his first metal in wrestling.  The most important thing Mr. Anderson learned from his sophomore year is the responsibility of driving.  Mr. Anderson had no celebrity crush, but mentioned Farrah Fawcett was the goddess back then.  Mr. Anderson's high school sweetheart was during his senior year, and her name was Sharon.

Freshman Math Teacher Mrs. Greene also remembers her sophomore year.  Mrs. Green was a sophomore in the years of 1990 and 1991 at Jefferson High School in Conception Junction, MO, and went there all four years of high school.  The style in clothing then was big hair, puffy short dress, and miniskirts.  The big music was Bon Jovi and AC/DC.  Mrs. Greene did not look much different her sophomore year, besides her hair being permed because it was the style then.  Unlike Mr. Anderson, Mrs. Greene liked school.  Mrs. Greene was in FCCLA, but then it was called FHA (Future Homemakers of America).  Mrs. Greene was also involved in basketball and softball all throughout high school.

As years pass, you learn things whether it'd be in life or in school. Mrs. Greene said she learned her sophomore year, "Life may not be what you want it to be at the moment, but it will work itself out eventually," says Mrs. Greene.  Mrs. Greene also agreed the big thing to happen her sophomore year was getting her driver's license.  Mrs. Greene didn't have a celebrity crush, but Kirk Cameron was the big dude on the scene at the time.  Mrs. Greene had a high school sweetheart and his name is Wayne...and they ended up getting married!  Mrs. Greene said the one thing she loved about school the most was the togetherness of the school because of it's small size.

So when you're struggling with school, remember the teachers who are giving out the homework were there once earlier in life as well. And if you ever need someone to talk to, they might know more than we give them credit for!
