Christmas is almost here!  Christmas is full of brightly colored lights and decorations, snow, holiday treats, and presents.  I'm not writing about Christmas though.  I'm writing about CHS students favorite Christmas movies.  Little slips of paper with the question "What is your favorite Christmas movie?" were passed out to Mrs. Greene's, Mrs. Garrison's, Mrs. Harper's, Mr. Michael's, and Mr. Huckabey's seminars.  There were 25 movies voted for,  including The Water Boy, getting six votes!  However the most-popular Christmas favorite was the Christmas comedy "Elf" with 16 votes.  The second most-popular Christmas movie was "A Christmas Story," and The third most-popular Christmas movie was "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (cartoon version).

The students were very opinionated about the movies they chose.  Some student's liked The Grinch cartoon and others liked the live version of it better.  Some students were opinionated on the morals of the movies as well.  "I think the Grinch's moral is:  If your heart size is too small don't try to steal Christmas," says Freshman Larry Brock.  Which basically means that the Christmas season is about having a large heart and caring for others.  Fellow Freshman student Alex Williams had a positive outlook on the movie as well and thought that the moral was "You can't steal Christmas."  So there you have it don't try to steal Christmas.

It's true Christmas is an amazing holiday, but it would be very unfortunate to have Christmas everyday.  It's shown in the movie '30 days of Christmas.'  "The movie is about a father trying to connect with his family and his son wishes Christmas is everyday and his wish comes true,"
says Freshman Rebecca Wood.  'I think the moral of the movie is try hard not to lose your family even on the holidays.'

Holidays have been captured in film for many generations and generations.  So be sure to watch some of the movies listed in this article, and find out for yourself which moral best fits the story.
