Eminem is no stranger to “spitting rhymes” and his 2010 released album, Recovery, is one of his many albums that proves this true. Eminem introduced the album with the hit singles “Love the Way You Lie”, “No Love”, and “Not Afraid”.
I haven’t felt such an addiction and love towards any Eminem album since the release of Eminem show in 2002 and Recovery reminded me of Eminem’s lyrical talent.
Recovery takes a personal angle into Eminem’s battle with drug addiction and the struggles involved with climbing back up the ladder in the rap industry. The album appeals to me, as well as many other fans, by telling a story of realistic struggles and life experiences instead of constant babble about “attractive women” and the “sex scene”.
Two songs in particular, “Spacebound” and “25 To Life”, are constantly playing on my iPod because of their sounds and messages. “Spacebound” discusses an individual’s pains after the person they truly love changes their mind and decides to leave the relationship. “25 To Life” explains hip-hop’s hold on Eminem’s life and his inability to escape the stress.
Eminem’s C D has a new, positive trend of featuring other top artists, including Pink and Rihanna, which has proved to be a sensation among his fans and an excellent addition to his music. He’s included, not only hit artists, but classic rock artists as well on his tracks which has also been a new, valuable addition to his music.
If you want an open-door look into aspects of Eminem’s life and hassles, I definitely suggest you pick up a copy of Recovery. I personally give the album 5 stars!
