The Art Club is a very popular club among many Campbell High students interested in art. Founded in 2001, it is run by the art teacher,Ms. Escobar, or "Esco" to her students in the art room. It is a free flowing artistic environment for any young artist. Ms. Escobar looks to help kids explore the history of art and learn the many styles of art. “One of my favorite things about the club is getting to know the students”, Ms. Escobar added and also that the club is different from the regular assigned class. It’s less strict and assignments are made by the student.
Midrell Fitzgerald, a recent attendee of the club calls it “Time spent wisely” and another student says “You can do anything and give your opinion on art”. The Art Club has allowed many students to learn about art scholarships and enter contests. Students have applied to scholarships from Georgia State, The Atlanta Art Institute, and The Savannah College of Art and Design. Ms. Escobar says, “Being able to help students and watching them enjoy themselves every Tuesday are some of the most satisfying things I get from the club”. Art Club is an after school club open to all.
