The THS JV wrestlers traveled to Burns last Saturday to participate in the Burns Dual tournament. The Blazers took eight wrestlers with them, but only had six weights filled.

The first dual was against Mitchell, Nebraska. The Blazers had six open weights; with those they gave forty-two points to the other team. The next dual was against Burns. The Blazers pinned their opponents to come away with their first victory of the tournament. Southeast: had a much different result. The Blazers lost another dual to Southeast, the Blazers were now 1-2, with the only win against Burns.

The Blazers were now going up against Kaycee-Midwest for fifth and sixth. The Blazers won that dual and captured fifth place. The Blazers had some interesting matches mainly at 152lbs. As JV coach Mark Sims commented “That’s some of the best JV wrestling I’ve seen in a long time.” One wrestler commented “Even though we had a small team we didn’t do to bad”

Overall, the Blazers had some ups and downs but they came out in fifth with at most a seven to eight man line-up. The varsity wrestlers went to Scottsbluff on Saturday and for the most part did fairly well.
