It's Academic Refines Skills in Round-Robin Tourney Monday, October 24, 2011 By Trey Weinkam - Jo-Ellen O'Dell Advertising         It’s Academic attended a quiz bowl tournament last week, and fared well against some pretty elite teams. Two teams represented the school.         The Catonsville A team consisted of Adam Antoszewski, Chris Blair, Abel Deneke, and Treshaun Lynch, and the Catonsville B team consisted of Trey Weinkam, Ray Zink, Jackson O’Dell, and Leon Newkirk.          The A team won all five of its round robin games and made it to the semi finals of the tournament, losing to the Montgomery Blair B team.  This was the same team that the Catonsville B team lost to in the first round of the round robin, 330 to 10. Even though the A team did not make it to the finals, they still brought home a nice-sized trophy. The B team did not do as well, losing all five of its matches.  Both teams, however, learned from the experience.        "We were proud to bring two strong teams from BCPS all the way to Montgomery County and make it all the way to the semi-final round. The competition was strong, so it was excellent practice for our T.V. team who’s next filming on St. Patrick's Day," It's Academic coach Jo-Ellen O'Dell explained.
