At-a-glance

Girl’s lacrosse is an organization that was started this year and has turned out to be incredibly successful.

This organization just began in spring of this year and is self-funded. The Girl’s Lacrosse Parent Group makes all of the executive decisions about the group. They currently practice at North Lake School and consider that their home field.

Forty-seven girls are currently playing the sporty. They have formed two teams, a Junior Varsity and a Varsity.

Due to the fact that there are very few teams in the area to play against, they have been required to travel to Madison and down to Illinois to play. So far they have played against Middleton, LaFollette, Madison West, Sun Prairie, Verona, and some Illinois teams. In order to play some more games, the coaches have added scrimmage games by forming three equal groups of players, which play each other once a week.

So far, everyone seems impressed with the improvement of these first year players who had never held a lacrosse stick before earlier this year and hopefully the program will just continue to improve.
