At-a-glance

He was named Classic 8 Whole Co-player of the year, All-District Player of the WBCA, and 1st team All-State all in his junior year.

Jimy Landwehr is undoubtedly one of the greatest natural born athletes to ever walk Arrowhead High School.

Landwehr will be entering his senior year with eight varsity letters from baseball, basketball, and football. But for Landwehr, baseball is his top priority, and it shows.

During his sophomore year, he batted a .459 and his hard work only continued to pay off. Wrapping up his junior year, Landwehr averaged a .495, bringing in 41 RBIs for his team with an on-base percentage of .575.

He believes that his strength and favorite part of the game is batting and stealing base, which is definitely an understatement.

On the field, Landwehr is simply remarkable. At shortstop he only committed seven errors out of 151 attempts his entire season. Ironically, Landwehr also commented that his biggest struggle is his fielding. He feels he has had a few too many wild throws from shortstop to first. But the stats obviously prove otherwise.

Landwehr has been playing baseball since the days of t-ball. He also made sure to mention that his inspiration for the game comes from his father. “He basically taught me everything,” commented Landwehr.

Aside from Landwehr’s family and teammates, Coach Tim O’Driscoll is also truly impressed by his achievements.

“Jimy is probably one of the top five players to ever play at AHS,” stated O’Driscoll. “If all players were like him, coaches would have no troubles.”

One of Coach O’Driscoll’s favorite aspects of Jimy is his attitude. “He just has a tremendous attitude,” explained O’Driscoll. “He plays hard every game, not for him, for his team. He’s just always a team player.”

Landwehr hopes to continue playing baseball at the collegiate level.

I wish this Jimy Landwehr would have come to Edgewood College.
