At-a-glance

According to recent reports from stage crew members Lexie Strullmyer and Kathy Judd, seniors, the choir room bathrooms have been used as a common hook up place.

After being closed for repairs, the bathrooms have been reopened.

“The sinks are always breaking over there,” says the secretary at North Campus, Tracy McDonald.

Jamie Thiel, a senior at Arrowhead, believed the sink had fallen off as a result of kids goofing around in the bathroom.

“I’m glad it’s locked for good.  People shouldn’t be using it for sex.  It’s a public building; it’s a school,” Thiel said when pressed further.

Sophomore John Soper agrees with her sentiment.

For years, students like Claire Westlie and Thiel, senior band members who often hang out in the choir room area after school, have pondered what illicit activities go on in the bathroom.  With one sink broken from abuse, and the other closed as a precaution, their questions increased.

While many believe students having sex in school bathrooms is a myth, according to Orlando’s WKMG news, two students at a Florida high school were arrested for having consensual intercourse during school in the girl’s bathroom.

When asked about the broken bathroom, Pete Nejedlo vice principal of Arrowhead, commented he did not know they were currently broken, but also said they were vandalized around five times, with students causing breaks and leaks in the piping.

On the issue of sex in the bathroom, Nejedlo stated all reports were rumors and no one had been caught having sex in the bathroom.

An undisclosed first shift custodian believed horseplay broke the sink.  According to the custodian, the sink was loosened from the wall by roughhousing, causing leaks in the water lines.

So far this year three bubblers have broken, with only two being fully repaired, and the girl’s bathroom near room 188 in the far east corner of the school was down for a day before maintenance was able to solve the problem.

This needs to be taken down. I never said that, and this makes me look awful.
