Russ Finco was the spark that Arrowhead needed to demoralize long time rival Kettle Moraine 75-47 at home December 16, 2008.

                Arrowhead shot a stellar 50% from the field as a team, with Finco leading the way with 22 points.  Finco shot 7-12 from the field, 5-6 beyond the arc, and 3-4 from the charity line.  He also had a game high six assists. 

                The warhawks took the early lead with Finco scoring 11 of his 22 points in the first quarter, helping the warhawks snag a 22-15 lead after the first quarter.  Within two seconds of the quarter ending, the Lasers were hit with a traveling call, making the bench erupt, earning them a technical.  Finco converted on both free throws, part of a 16-0 run that spilled into the second quarter. 

                “I thought we executed the game plan that we had on both ends,” Arrowhead coach Craig Hasse said.  “Obviously, we made shots in the second quarter, but our defensive execution was outstanding, and that’s what gave us the opportunity to get decent shots,” said Hasse.

                Hasse also credited Charles Rushman for stepping in with his defensive efforts while junior Andy Fox is benched with a hand injury.

                “If one guy falls down, another guy steps up,” Finco said. “Charles is practicing hard and wanting to get into games. He’s a good defensive player, and he’s helping himself.”
