The girls’ varsity volleyball team lost their game on Saturday against Menomonee Falls at the sectional finals.

“I’ve been waiting for one year to play Falls again and I’m disappointed in the way we played because I will never have another chance,” said senior Kristen Vick after the game.

Falls overpowered the Warhawk’s in the three games, 15-4, 15-11, 15-3. The girls played aggressive and were able to win the rally for numerous side outs, but when it came down to putting points on the board, Arrowhead failed to do so.

“We were mentally and physically prepared for this game. We did not; however, play at our top level. We played not to lose and you can’t win a game that way. Our players overall were not on top of their game that night with very low stats in all cases. We spent too much time on defense and couldn’t get the offense going. We did rally back in the second game. Overall, we did not seek out the points; we instead waited and hesitated in many cases. Overall, this was a great learning experience and an awesome challenge for our team. Menomonee Falls came out ready to go to State and our team can learn from this for next season.”

Leading the team on Saturday were Audra Jeffers with 16 kills and two blocks, Kristen Vick with 27 assists, Kristen Zwirlein with three aces, Michelle Serath with 10 digs, and Megan Seegert with two blocks.
