As we enter the Christmas season, we are reminded of some traditions that are passed on from year to year. The Milwaukee Rep is putting on Charles Dickens’ timeless classic A Christmas Carol at the beautiful Pabst Theatre in Milwaukee.

Two Arrowhead students are making appearances in the show. Freshman Jenna Wolfsohn is singing and dancing in the children’s ensemble. Jenna has been acting since the age of 7 and has grown accustomed to the stress of school work and rehearsals. Junior Erickray Minturn is also in the show and is playing Peter Cratchet.

Similar to last year, the Rep shortened the play by ten minutes. The total run time is about two hours and ten minutes.

Holly Filmanowictz is the mother of both Young Ebenezer and Master Smudge. When asked about the countless rehearsals and performances she said, “There is a lot of driving involved. There were several rehearsals per week and now about seven performances per week.”

“I come to see this every year and it gets better each time,” one viewer of the play said. “It really teaches a lesson about the power of giving.”

James Pickering plays the role of Ebenezer Scrooge for the 300th time in his life. This will be his 33rd season as a member of the resident acting company for the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre.

Also expect to see the traditional roles of Tiny Tim and Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet To Come as they demonstrate the spirit of giving and the magic of Christmas.

The play began on November 23rd and the final performance is on December 23rd. The tickets range from $22.50 to $65.
