“Use your head!” This phrase most commonly used towards teens these days, and thankfully some take that to heart. Like the Arrowhead science team, who recently competed in the MSOE Science Competition in which they managed, out of 30 teams, to take home the bronze with style.

Arrowhead sent two teams of eight students, which was a small portion of the 240 competitors there. Medal winners included Thomas Patrick winning a first place medal in the general science category and eighth place in the over all competition. Zach Mitschrich also finished high in the ranks bringing in a fifteenth place medal. Other team members included Brandon Davis, Joel Prince, Richie Pratt, Matt Zuebuehler, Amanda Bizub and Emma Coughlin. Team two also preformed well coming home in sixth place. Members of that team included Stan Anderson, Kelly Culhane, Jessica Dietz, Dan Douglas, Steve Wolfsohn, Zach Wachtl, Matt Welsh, and Kayla Dieball.

Mrs. Kaiser, the leader of this knowledgeable pack, commented on the competition by saying, “The other top two teams [that placed in front of Arrowhead] are magnet schools from Illinois that draw the area’s finest students that specialize in math and science, so naturally Arrowhead is always proud to come home the top school from Wisconsin. “
