At-a-glance

Kamile, an 18 year old student is just one of the girls from Mažeikiai who came to Klaipeda for international English classes in her summer vacation.

Reporter: Where and how did you find out about Summer Language Institute at LCC? Have you red about it or maybe your teacher had told you?

Kamil?: My sister is studying at LCC and she told me about SLI. She also told that teachers at LCC are great and it‘s just a fun place to be.

Reporter: What did you expect from LCC? Is everything going fluently? Did your expectations fulfill, or was something different than you thought it will?

Kamil?: I thought that there will be less homework (loughs). Also I thought that lessons will be more fun, whell they are fun, but I expected them to be more funny.

Reporter: And what about off campus activities?

Kamil?: Ohhh I love them very much.

Reporter: I know that you live in the Dormitory with three girls from Lithuania?

Kamil?: Yes, one is from Pan?vežys, other from Šiauliai and the third girl is from Vilnius.

Reporter: So how do you spend your free time? Do you spend it together with your roommates or you have other friends?

Kamil?: Most of the time we spend together. We usually go to the beach when it’s nice outside, or just for a walk in the downtown.

Reporter: Are there activities for the students in the Dormitory? Do you get together with other students and play games or do something entertaining?

Kamil?: When there‘s not much homework to do, I usualy go to the ping-pong room and play or chat with people.

Reporter: And what about the weekends?

Kamil?: I don’t stay in Klaip?da for the weekends.

Reporter: Your main goal was to improve your English reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Did you achieve your goal?

Kamil?: I improved my speaking skills very much because all the time you speak in English. There are many foreign students at SLI, and you have to talk in English so that everyone could understand you. Sometimes you need to ask another student for something and you don’t know if he is Lithuanian, Russian or maybe Latvian so you just say it in English.

Reporter: Do teacher at your school differ from teachers at LCC?

Kamil?: Ohh definitely yes! Teachers here are very funny, they laugh a lot, they tell ‘bad American jokes’ (laughs).

Reporter: What do you think, how will you feel when SLI will be over?

Kamil?: It will be very sad for me to leave all of my friends that I met here. The saddest thing will be to leave the teachers, who gave me a lot. I might never ever see them again.
