Last Friday, Dec. 8, the team won a close one against Waukesha South 52-47.

Arrowhead crushes Oconomowoc

Arrowhead’s varsity boys’ basketball team dominated Oconomowoc last Saturday, Dec. 2, 74-51 in the first conference match of its season.

The boys seemed to be too much for Oconomowoc the entire game. In the first 5:30 of the game, the Hawks jumped to a 16-5 lead. Darren Gripp had 9 points in the 1st quarter alone. In the second quarter the Raccoons went on a 16-7 run to put the score closer at 23-21. After Arrowhead went on another great 9-0 run to leave the court at halftime 45-30. The second half was quite similar to the first.

Arrowhead shot amazingly the entire game shooting 51.8% (29-56) for the game. The Warhawks’ defense was also impressive as only 37% of Oconomowoc’s shot dropped.

"We talked about pushing the ball ahead offensively and thought we could run the floor pretty well," Coach Craig Haase said. "I think we did get a lot of open looks when we got the ball ahead."

Leading scorer for the Hawks was Gripp with 21 points. Behind Gripp was Chris Roets with 17, John Schuster with 11, Chris Konkol with 8, and Justin Hineman with 7.

"It was a great team effort," said Haase. "We got a lot of different things from a lot of different guys."
