Everybody has the drive to want to win everybody wants to succeed. (Austin Rioux: TD) Same coaches as last year. He knows what to expect from us and we know what to expect from him.
It’s like continuing from last year. Ryan Staggs, Nic Cova, Cisco Greco. Brandon StodardHopefully it will with the same players. We’ve been able to outplay them, we worked out all summer and it’s given us the edge. Loss two good coaches last, Coach Hagman. When we tie it feels horrible, to know when you lose it’s going to feel ten times worse nobody wants to feel that. Team Chemistry: Everybody meshes, gets along, work with each other to get everyone better. Running game; they can know where were going to run it and it tells them to try and stop us. Was worried about Colfax but beat them. Mike DeSilva stepped up to QB after injury on other QB. A lot of new players stepping up to make the team better. Working twice as hard to catch up. 4-0 in league. Undefeated as Frosh. Teamwork, as team we win every game Cova. We’re all friends you see teams fighting on the fields, Mike De Silva. TE and OL Staggs, Ml and FB Cova. Stopping both solid -defense.
Coaches line good Hagman- it won’t affect us as a team but maybe on offensive. We all think on the same level and we’re on the same page. DaSilva. Good OL they step up under pressure. A lot of confidence in offense and defense, we just have a lot of confidence in our whole team. SS- Greco, Stay together close group defensive very few mistakes. 5 interceptions- ran 3 back for TD. Consistent on tackling very few missed tackles back up guys to make missed tackles. Eat lunch together: more competitive, closer,
Lincoln High School’s Junior Varsity football team has fought the good fight and proved themselves, not only throughout this past season but their freshmen year as well. The Class of 2007 has played outstanding football for two years now, so what’s the secret?
They have had the same coach, Don Johnson, for both years, which helps with consistency. “He [Coach Johnson] knows what to expect from us and we know what to expect from him,” said Austin Rioux. The team has also maintained the same players for the most part; which has helped with team chemistry. “We’re all friends, you see [other] teams fighting on the field, but we all hang out together,” said tight end Ryan Staggs. The team has had players step up to positions when teammates were injured. Mike De Silva replaced Miles Weck, as Quarterback half way through the season and has been doing well ever since.
“Everybody has the drive to want to win [and] everybody wants to succeed”, stated Austin Rioux. They [the team] have an overall record of 16-0-2. The Zebra’s seem to have favored the running game more throughout this season.
