Do you remember the band Lifehouse? They had a hit song back in 2000 off of their cd “No Name Face” called “Hanging By a Moment.” Is it all coming back to you now?

Everybody thinks of Lifehouse as just a one-hit wonder band, but they have made more than just that one album. In 2003, they released a second cd called “Stanley Climbfall.” Unfortunately, this cd didn’t have many chart-toppers on it.

Their new self-titled cd, released on March 22, 2005, is ready to break the charts thought, with it’s new single “You And Me.”

“I think the song is cool. I like how the song is far from typical, and how they refer to ‘all of the people.’ It’s neat,” says Shannon Bryant, a junior.

The first song on the album, “Come Back Down,” sets the pace for the album. It’s a softer rock than most of today’s groups, but it definitely doesn’t belong on easy listening.

The album, in my opinion, kind of has a 90’s rock feel to it. Life house has held on to the “good ol’ days” of Goo Goo Dolls and Third Eye Blind – and I have no problem with that. I’m not saying that they sound exactly like those bands, but they’d fit in a similar category.

For more information on the band, such as tours, shopping, and news, got to www.lifehousemusic.com. You can also preview the songs off of the new cd for free.

As they say, “the third try is the charm.” Maybe this third album from Lifehouse will be the one to bring them into the spotlight.
