Family Man
My family and I at Christmas time. I can't imagine where I'd be without them. - Val Raitz

Love is a word that is often translated loosely in today’s world.  The word love is used to describe people’s feelings toward a person all the way down to an object.  So a lot of times when I hear people use this word to express their feelings toward something, I often become skeptical.  One instance that love is not often mistaken is in family.
I consider my family as the best in the world, and so do just about everyone else in the world.  But there is a specific reason that I consider them the best, and that reason is because they’re mine.  Only I can call them my family, no one else except other people in my family can say that, this alone is enough for me, but that’s not all that makes them awesome.

I’ll start with my dad; I love my dad because he is so stoic.  Most people see him and their first thought is that he is one angry man. If I didn’t know him I would think that too.  Yet it is this stoic emotion that makes me love him even more because his love just seems that much more genuine.  My mom is exactly the opposite of that because she is very sociable and outgoing. She is always there for me.  My mom always knows the best way to handle every situation, whether it’s being stern or compassionate, she always gets the right result.

My brothers are a totally different story because they bring something totally different to the table.  It is my mom and dad’s job to bring sanity and that leaves my brothers to bring the insanity.  Although many people think insanity is a bad thing, without a little bit of it life gets boring.  I can’t imagine my life without my brothers to liven it up, especially my little brother.  Although he and I go at it sometimes, in the end I can’t imagine life without him.

At the end of the day, there is no way I could survive a minute without knowing my family is there with me. As much as I love them, they love me twice as much.
