Snowcoming Week: Spirit vs. Popularity
Advertising

Every winter, the students of Plainwell High School set out to nominate a Snowcoming Court.  These nominees are sent to represent the student body and rule as Snowcoming King and Queen.  But the question is,how are these students chosen? Is this purely a popularity contest? Or does the student body pick these representatives based on personality?  Personally, I believe that any student who is chosen to represent the student body should have some merits other than shiny hair and athletic ability.  During Homecoming 2010, the students selected Heather Quarry and Kyle Farris for Homecoming Queen and King.  Quarry was truly one of the most spirited students that attended the school.  She truly deserved to win the crown because she supported the school, whether we were winning or not.  When students cast their votes, they should be considering more than beauty.  They should be considering who truly best represents the spirit of being a Trojan, because isn’t that what Snowcoming is all about?
